Another Stupid Injury

On the heels of Derrick Rose sitting on a knife in bed and Plaxico Burress misplacing a bullet in his leg, comes this story from Denver:

Colorado Avalanche captain Joe Sakic, already sidelined by back problems, has broken three fingers in a snow blower accident and will be out at least three months.
    The Avalanche say Sakic underwent surgery Tuesday night for the broken fingers and tendon damage. The team says he’s expected to make a full recovery.
    The snow blower accident occurred at Sakic’s home Tuesday afternoon, but the team hasn’t given any details.
    Sakic is being treated for a herniated disc, which was expected to keep him out until mid-January.

This is why NHL teams sign goons to protect their stars. Why isn’t Ian Laperrierre clearing Sakic’s driveway and cleaning the leaves out of his gutter?
