Juan Mata gets David Luiz a funny birthday cake

Posted on 23 April 2012 by King Ing

If you’ve seen David Luiz before you know that he has the Sideshow Bob hairstyle. So it was only fitting that his teammate Juan Mata buy him a birthday cake matching that look.

Still doesn’t match the greatness of Dider Drogba’s masterpiece.

Tim Couch Maker’s Mark is perfect for Kentucky Derby Day

Posted on 21 March 2012 by King Ing

The first weekend of May is fast approaching and we all pretty much know what that means. The great Kentucky Derby race followed by a mediocre boxing match. (Get it, no Pacquiao and Mayweather fight). While my usual drink of choice for the race is Jack Daniels, this year the switch will be made over to Maker’s Mark if I can get my hands on one of these charitable Tim Couch bottles.

Not only can I make myself a mint julep, but I can feel good about drinking one knowing that the proceeds of the sales will go to the Gill Heart Institute at UK HealthCare. Maker’s Mark will produce 20,000 numbered, limited edition bottles and they should be available statewide Friday April 6, opening day of Keeneland’s Spring 2012.

So go out and purchase one, and if anyone in Kentucky wants to send me one it would be greatly appreciated.

John Wall’s birthday party was an All-Star affair

Posted on 16 September 2011 by King Ing

This looked nothing like my 21st birthday party. John Wall’s party at Greenhouse in NYC brought out all the stars. Swizz Beats, Diddy, Carmelo Anthony, Drake, DJ Khaled. Kemba Walker, Maino, Jim Jones, and Baron Davis were some of the celebrities that came out to celebrate.

It must have been hot in there as everyone from Melo to Kemba were in their wifebeaters by the end of the video.

Posted on 20 July 2011 by King Ing

These athlete birthday cakes are getting crazier and crazier. Who comes up with these ideas? How does Steve Johnson decide to have a booty birthday cake?

Let me get a slice of the right cheek.

Boston Bruins player earns free Amstel Light

Posted on 28 June 2011 by King Ing

So the infamous Boston Bruins receipt from the Shrine MGM lit up the internet last week. While most of the $156k tab was champagne and hard alcohol, a few beers were thrown into the mix.

An order of one Amstel Light caught the company’s eye. The communications team is trying to find the one player that ordered the beer and are offering him free beer for his 4th of July party (or Canadian independence Day) and his private celebration day with the Stanley Cup.

What happens if the person that ordered the beer wasn’t a player? Does he/she still get free beer? If that is the case I ordered it.

The Mavericks championship plane ride back to Dallas

Posted on 23 June 2011 by King Ing

So a short video was released of the Dallas Mavericks on the plane ride home from Miami with the championship trophy in tow. It is great to see their interactions. Like J.J. Barea trying to wake everyone up from their naps, Caron Butler making weird faces and noises into the camera, and who can forget Peja Stojakovic doing nothing.

But the best part was Jason Terry holding a cigar and saying, “There are only a couple of greats. Red Auerbach…. Jason Terry in the same class.” You have to love the guy.

Too bad Pepe Reina wasn’t on the flight. Then it would have been a real party.

The Boston Bruins hefty bar tab

Posted on 20 June 2011 by King Ing

Mark Cuban might have footed the bill for the Mavericks to party at LIV in Miami, but I wonder who took care of this $156,000 tab the Boston Bruins ran up at the Shrine MGM in Foxwoods?

Imagine losing credit card roulette on this!

Posted on 20 June 2011 by King Ing

After his dominating performance at the 2011 U.S. Open, Rory McIlroy decided to celebrate his title by taking a cue from the NHL and sip some fine beverage from the championship trophy. I wonder if it was Jagermeister.

Jason Terry gifts the Mavericks some Crown Royal XR

Posted on 17 June 2011 by King Ing

Crown Royal seems to be the drink of champions. In the past athletes like Hines Ward, Lamar Odom, and Mark Buehrle all gifted personalized bags of the XR to their teammates.

Not to miss a beat Jason Terry decided to present each one of the Mavericks their own personalized bottle of Crown Royal’s “extra rare” whiskey to commemorate the franchises’ first championship. “The Jet” sums it up by saying,

“I’ve had many significant moments worth celebrating throughout my career, but after 12 seasons of professional basketball, I know how truly special and rare winning a title is,” said Terry. “So, I thought giving all the guys a custom made bag for their Crown Royal XR would be a fun way to honor the moment and give them something smooth to sip on as they enjoy this amazing feeling.”

Not a bad looking bottle. I will be waiting for mine to come by mail.
