We all gave thanks, ate turkey, drank beer, and watched football last weekend. And now we’re back at work, sitting at our desks, and counting the days until we can repeat this series of events (note: it’s only 23 days away). Here is our wrap of Thanksgiving ’08.

• King Ing gave a preemptive thanks to something we’re all grateful for.
• DeGags, our resident college football handicapper, nailed all the turkey-day games. I can finally pay off my credit card bills now (thanks DeGags!)
• It was a bad weekend to be an overpaid and selfish athlete in NY. Stephon Marbury got benched after refusing to play and Plaxico Burress pulled a DV¹

It’s Friday afternoon and we’re going to call it a day. King Ing and Justin are heading up to Montreal for a weekend of debauchery (yes, a bachelor party) – and I’m heading to the liquor store to prepare for this weekend’s bocce tourney.

This week wraps up our first month of blogging, and we saw our traffic spike when SI linked to our Champions League Wags post. In fact, the increase in visitors was so high that our GoDaddy server crashed like Danica Patrick in this video. All is fixed now that we’ve gotten rid of GoDaddy, but Justin took out his frustration by criticizing SI’s latest cover trash art.

• King Ing claimed The Penguins/Flyers conference finals should be a “dog fight” — and a Flyers fan (Toph) and a Penguins fan (Black & Gold) explained why their team would win. Can’t wait to hear the recap.

• Toph admitted his girlfriend may have hooked up with Sam Cassell.

• Our post about Chien Ming Wang jinxed his last start, as Wang couldn’t rise to the ocassion.

• Think I could bring water into the airport like this ?

• I wish Mother’s Day was every day.

We’d like to thank all our readers for stopping by, dropping a comment, and supporting us in our first week online. Our first post wasn’t all that exciting, but we starting hitting our stride mid-week with a guess post from Gianluca, the SportsCracklePop-o-Meter, and a number of solid ones from Justin. To cap off the week, King Ing dropped the most authoritative Derby Guide you will find (and no we aren’t responsible for any money you lose this weekend).

Posting will be light over the weekend, unless we figure out how to get King Ing to live blog the Derby from his brick-like Blackberry 7250. Actually, even if he could post from it, Ing’s posts would be illegible after killing a bottle of JD-DC.
