The NFC Conference betting is no longer the whipping boy of the NFL, their champion ultimately doomed to play bridesmaid in the Super Bowl to whichever team emerged from the AFC playoffs. The defending NFL champions are the New Orleans Saints, an NFC team, and there are a number of teams from this conference who will be favored by NFL betting experts as potential winners of the 2011 Super Bowl. They are the Saints, the Minnesota Vikings, the Dallas Cowboys and the Green Bay Packers. It would also come as no surprise to see the Atlanta Falcons challenge for a Super Bowl berth this season.

2011 AFC Conference betting is off to a brisk start as NFL bettors wager on the futures market that sets the odds for this season’s AFC champion. In recent seasons the winner of this conference was more than likely to go on and win the Super Bowl and in fact seven of the last ten champions are from the AFC, that despite the fact that the NFC has produced two of the past three winners.

NFL betting fans start each season by placing the Colts, Chargers and Patriots at or near the top of any power rankings table. This coming season will see the Jets and the Ravens added to most of those lists as the AFC Conference continues to churn out a host of Super Bowl contenders.
