According to Las Vegas Hilton sportsbook director Jay Kornegay the Denver Broncos would be 28 point favorites in Week 6 over the Jacksonville Jaguars. This would be the largest spread ever for an NFL game.
“I said [on Sunday] I would post minus-28, which would be the largest point spread in modern day,” said Jay Kornegay, sports book director for the LVH Sports Book at the Las Vegas Hilton. “The sports books in Las Vegas are getting crushed each week on the Jaguars and Broncos games. Now, it’s forming a perfect storm. One of the worst teams ever will be facing one of the better teams we’ve seen in recent years in their backyard.”
How crazy is that? I bet you most people would still side with the team from the Mile High city. That offense is unstoppable. And the Jaguars are just plain pathetic. We could possibly be looking at teams that could go16-0 and 0-16 this season. Who would you guys bet on? The Rams are double digit favorites this week over Jacksonville. That is saying a lot.
The largest line in NFL history belongs to the Steelers as they were 27-point favorites over the Buccaneers on Dec. 5, 1976. The Steelers easily covered winning 42-0.
That game is too weeks away, so before we get ahead of ourselves let’s take a look at the week 5 NFL lines.
