2013 Kentucky Derby post positions and morning line odds

King Ing May 1, 2013 0

The greatest sporting day of the year is almost upon us. The first Saturday in May brings us NBA and NHL playoffs, a huge title fight in boxing, and the best two minutes in sports with the Kentucky Derby. With the draw being held today we now know where the horses start and what their morning lines are. Let the handicapping begin!

17 Will Take Charge Jon Court D. Wayne Lukas 20/1
18 Frac Daddy Victor Lebron Ken McPeek 50/1
19 Java’s War Julien Leparoux Ken McPeek 15/1
20 Vyjack Garrett Gomez Rudy Rodriguez 15/1

The winner of the Florida Derby (Orb), Wood Memorial (Verrazano), and Santa Anita Derby (Goldencents) lead the field into Churchill Downs. You’ll be hard pressed to throw any of those horses out in any exotics you play. Todd Pletcher’s Revolutionary is the fourth choice with a slew of others following closely at 15/1 in regards to the Kentucky Derby betting odds.

For what it’s worth, Normandy Invasion is a value at 12-1 and looks like my early top choice to take home the roses. (More in-depth analysis to come later on in the week)

Who do you guys like and what will be your wagers this coming Saturday?
