Even though the NFL regular season is still weeks away, NFL odds for the entire Week 1 schedule have been out for a while now. NFL bettors have been putting very early action on the games, and today, I will take a look at the game in Cleveland, between the Browns and the Eagles. The Eagles are favored anywhere from -7 ½ to -9. Do you think the Eagles have what it takes to get a blowout win on the road in Week 1?
The Eagles were not who they thought they were last season. They started the season 1-4, and even though they were the clear favorites in the NFC East, they had disappointing losses to sub .500 teams.
The Browns weren’t expected to do anything last season, and they did not surprise. They were 4-12, despite having the 2nd best pass defense in the league. That will play an important part against the Eagles.
I expect Philly to win this game, however, I don’t think they will have a whole lot of success against Joe Haden and company. That doesn’t mean they can’t cover. LeSean McCoy will have to have a monster game if the Eagles want to cover. The Browns weren’t very good against the run last season, and it doesn’t look like they will be any good again.
At this point, we will have to see how both of these teams perform in the preseason, but I think the Browns will show up big for their season opener, and I don’t think they will lose by more than single digits. I would recommend the Browns at this point.
