When it comes to any consideration of the greatest players at Euro 2012, there are almost too many to name as the tournament is set to feature many of those who star for the top European clubs on a weekly basis. This list is far from exhaustive, but provides a few of those players who could end up being named Player of the Tournament, for anyone considering betting on this with sites like

Andres Iniesta
To be honest the Spanish team is almost exclusively populated with players who could go on to win the Player of the Tournament award, but given the influence of their midfield in particular, the chances of the winner coming from that area are particularly good. Iniesta is one of their two playmakers, alongside Xavi – who won this award at Euro 2008 – and should be considered a very strong bet for the ward should Spain live up to pre-tournament expectations.

Wesley Schneider
Another team with a number of potential Player of the Tournament winners – including Arsenal star Robin Van Persie. However attacking midfielder Wesley Schneider should not be overlooked, as he was their star performer and top goal scorer when they got to the World Cup final in 2010. Sir Alex Ferguson is known to be an admirer of his talents, although his chances depend on whether Holland as a team can deliver.

Mesut Ozil
This German striker must be considered a serious contender, as he captured the imagination of observers during the last World Cup, and has since lived up to that youthful promise by producing fine performances for his country and for Real Madrid. This tournament could be the one for him to really establish himself as a household name at the very top level, with Germany considered a strong bet to reach the latter stages – if not win the tournament.
