All the athletes in Russia that competed at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver and those responsible for training them, better watch their back. The Russians are so upset over their dismal performance, President Dmitri A. Medvedev is threatening to take action.
Russia won just three gold medals and placed sixth in the overall medal count, igniting a firestorm of controversy. Mr. Medvedev, who didnt even attend the closing ceremony of the games, issued this statement in Moscow on Monday. “They must have the the courage to submit their resignation. And if they do not have this resolve, we will help them.” Even, former President and ex-KGB agent Vladimir V. Putin weighed in on the situation last week saying the matter required “serious critical analysis.”
The world should pay close attention to the events that transpire in Russia after these games and before they host the 2014 olympics in Sochi. Let’s just hope Alexander Ovechkin doesnt end up looking like Alexander Litvinenko.
