Against the Spread: 2009 College Football Week 11 Picks

King Ing November 13, 2009 0

After my first losing weekend I decided to take last week off. Not really, I was a little lazy to write up anything. So let me give you some banging winners for this Saturday. As always my picks are made for recreational purposes only.

Georgia Tech v Duke 12PM

Tech is one win away from Tampa and the ACC Championship game. All they have to do is beat the Blue Devils in Durham. Duke was flying high after their three game win streak, but that all ended last week against N. Carolina.

The Devils defense is depleted and you must be at full strength to face the triple option of Georgia Tech. While Thaddeus Lewis may be able to keep it close for a while, the punishing ground game of the Yellow Jackets pull away late.

Pick – Georgia Tech -12.5 2 units

Houston v UCF 12PM

You just have to know one man in this game and his name is Case Keenum. The QB for the Cougars has thrown 28 TD’s against 5 INT’s this season. This offense is on fire and will make up for where the defense lacks. UCF doesn’t have a potent offense anyway, so laying 4.5 here should not be a problem.

Pick – Houston -4.5 4 units

BYU v New Mexico 2PM

I usually hate laying such a big number here, but BYU has Max Hall and they have found their stride. The Lobos can’t stop the passing game. Recipe for disaster

Pick – BYU -27 2 units

Notre Dame v Pittsburgh 8PM

The Irish have continuously screwed me over this season. But if you didn’t know already, I am a glutton for punishment. These guys are playing for Charlie Weiss’ job right now. Show some pride Golden Domers. Give me the touchdown with Clausen, Tate, and Floyd.

Pick – Notre Dame +7 1 unit

Record 20-14-1 +19.8 units
