USC shows us what the new NFL overtime should look like
October 15, 2009 – 10:21 am by King IngWith the score tied 12-12 at the end of USC’s practice, coach Pete Carroll found a great way to break the tie between the offense and defense. Instead of playing it out he had offensive line coach Pat Ruel and defensive line coach Jethro Franklin slip-and-slide it out on the field. The D was awarded the victory.
Very loose feel to this team, especially headed to a hostile South Bend on Saturday (I know who I got winning…picks tomorrow).
If only the NFL adopted this strategy. Who wouldn’t want to see Rex Ryan sliding down the sideline?
