A lot of people have spoken out since it was announced that Rush Limbaugh was being considered as a potential part owner of the St. Louis Rams. There have been comments from former and current players, The head of the players union, and even Al Sharpton. But, none of the comments have come from anyone who actually had a say in the process. Until now:
Colts owner Jim Irsay said today he would not consider voting to approve Rush Limbaugh if the talk-show host is successful in his bid to buy the St. Louis Rams.
“I myself couldn’t even think of voting for him,” Irsay told PFT’s Tom Curran at the NFL’s owners meetings in Boston.
The owners are the ones who ultimately decide who joins their ranks. As a longtime member of the fraternity, Irsay probably has some sway over his fellow owners. Could his statement could end up being the death knell for Limbaugh’s efforts to buy the Rams? We’ll have to wait and see.
