“David Sale, who was enjoying a bachelor party at the Phillies’ ballpark and then inside the eatery, was pummeled to death during a brawl with a group of men who’d chartered a bus from a Fishtown bar for the game.
He was beaten by “hands and feet,” at about 7 p.m., said police spokeswoman Jill Russell. By 8:10 p.m., Sale succumbed to head injuries at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
Homicide detectives said late last night that they expected to charge three people – two already in custody, and a third individual who they had not yet apprehended.”
I never fully understood what would drive someone to want to hurt, let alone kill another human being over a argument. This is such an unfortunate incident. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the members of the bachelor party and Sale family.
Good news for five frat brothers from Villanova. It doesn’t look like they’ll be going to jail for breaking into Lincoln Financial Field, and vandalizing the home of the Eagles. Instead, they’ve reached a plea deal, which involves a fine and some community service.
The question remains, however. Why would five teenage males break into the home of a major professional sports franchise, and do damage to it?
According to The National Enquirer (print Aug 3), Tony Romo left Jessica Simpson stranded at my favorite chained breakfast restaurant just weeks before their eventual breakup.
“Tony Romo was looking for just the right moment to finally kick Jessica Simpson out of his life – and he found it an International House of Pancakes in the middle of Texas!
[During a three-hour car ride]… tensions between the two reached a boiling point.
“They’d argued a lot over the past several months. This time, Tony barely said a word,” said an insider.
“He suddenly pulled into the parking lot of an IHOP and growled ‘get out.’ Jess got out and slammed the door. Before she could say anything, Tony peeled off. She ended crying her eyes out for the next two hours while she waited for someone to come pick her up.”
“If she didn’t realize it before, she finally got the message that Tony had reached his limit.”
Stephon Marbury promised his Twitter followers 24 hours of live chatting on UStream starting at 9AM today. A little over one hour in and I am thouroughly entertained. Your day is not complete until you hear Starbury sing. So just follow the jump and enjoy the action.
The Boston area has a less than stellar history of dealing with race issues, so the region’s latest incident probably isn’t much of a surprise.
Noted African American historian and Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates, Jr. was arrested by Cambridge police for breaking into his own home. He says the officers used racial profiling, and arrested him because he was black.
The officer, though, says he won’t apologize. And as far as though allegations that he’s a racist? Impossible! He gave mouth to mouth to Reggie Lewis. Continue Reading
Here are pictures of Tracy McGrady, Al Harrington (I think it’s him), Paul Pierce, and Jermaine O’Neal at Pure last Friday night. I don’t claim to have a PhD in gang symbols, but what a couple of these NBA players are “throwing up” are eerily similar to what “The Truth” got fined for in Game 3 of the playoffs against the Atlanta Hawks last year.
Earlier today I wrote that TMZ was going to release the tape of Lebron getting dunked on at 6:45PM. Only to find out that it was up on their website early this afternoon. Now we know why that happened, as eBaum Nation one upped the celeb-news giant by getting a better quality tape of Jordan Crawford’s slam.
TMZ should seriously ask for a refund. They got played.
The Mets are an unmitigated disaster. There’s really no reason to re-hash the ongoing joke of a season currently playing out at Citifield.
But, apparently the rot has spread deeper into the organization. According to the Daily News, team exec Tony Bernazard went into the clubhouse of the organization’s double A affiliate in Binghamton looking for a fight.
