If only Burnett could channel David Wells today…

Who can ever forget David Wells and the day he pitched himself into baseball immortality at Yankee stadium. Eleven years ago today, Wells became one of seventeen pitchers in major league history to pitch a perfect game. He blanked the Minnesota Twins, 4-0, despite claiming he was hungover after a night of heavy drinking.

As the Yankees face the Twins today in game 3 of their 4 game series, let’s hope AJ Burnett is hungover and able to channel David Wells for a perfect game…although I’d be just as happy if he can get a win.
