ESPN To Have B.O. for Eight Years
November 14, 2008 – 12:26 pm by California Correspondent
ESPN just struck a deal to broadcast all 4 rounds of the British Open live on TV and the Internet beginning in 2010 and lasting for eight years. This is especially great for golfers who want to see the boring early rounds on Thursday and Friday before everyone else starts paying attention.
While this deal provides ESPN with expanded digital rights to stream the British Open online, I’m not sure it actually matters because the British Open’s main followers (Bankers and Financiers) will have all been laid off and watching from the comfort of their 62 inch LCD televisions at home.
