Against the Spread (College Football Week 11) Part 1

DeGags November 6, 2008 1

SCP has just hired (and by that I mean he writes for a 6 pack of Smirnoff Ice) a resident college football handicapper. Take it firsthand from King Ing, this guy is the real deal. Hopefully he can continue his hot streak and make us all some payola. So let me introduce DeGags to the SCP community. (He wanted me to let you know his interest include “really” hot chicks, working out on his Bowflex, and winters at the Jersey shore)

As we enter week 11 of the 2008 NCAA football season we have several key matchups that will shape the BCS standings for the final month. Let me start you off with an appetizer for Thursday night.

Tonight I put 5 units down on Maryland over Virginia Tech. Maryland upset Cal 35-27 in week 3 in a game the Terps dominated for 3 ½ quarters until giving up 3 TD’s in the final stanza. I’ve watched Maryland play all year and they have only played 5 bad quarters of football; the final quarter of the Cal game and the full 4 quarters of their week 6 loss to Virginia (31-0). I believe that MD is underrated this season, and will pull off a needed victory against VT to remain in the top 25.

Today’s Pick: Maryland Terrapins ML (+125) for 5 units
