Degags made Thanksgiving a great day as he was undefeated and up 14 units. He definitely earned his mashed potatoes this time. Let’s hope the hotness continues today and tomorrow.
This is a big weekend for the BCS. The Sooners may surpass the Longhorns for a trip to the big game. Yes, the same Longhorns who owned them a few weeks back 45-35. The BCS system doesn’t work, it sucks more than Patty Hostin at an RMA conference. We need a college playoff system, but since we don’t have one there black swans are our friends. What should happen, at times does not.
I start with the biggest game of the weekend:
The Sooners at the Cowboys. Their last two meetings have been decided by fewer than 9 points. OK State is a menacing force at home. They hate the Sooners, and they want to win this game more than the Sooners do. They’ll be damned if they let their rivals run up any style points. I predicted a 6 point spread and decided to take the Cowboys, I got a 7.5 point spread and am all over the Cowboys. 3 Units Okahoma Sate +7.5 over Oklahoma ATS.
Notre Dame at USC. Notre Dame sucks. But not as much as the BCS (or Patty Hostin for that matter.) Therefore, I don’t think it will be the blowout everyone thinks. USC is giving 32 points??? USC??? Please, this team couldn’t beat Iowa. They lost to Oregon State, a team that PSU beat by 10 points. I predict a upset here. But luckily we don’t need that, we’ll take ND to cover the 32 points. 2 Units ND +32 over USC.
BustedCoverage has a great video of a fan causing a ruckus in the stands at UFC 91. Needless to say security came over and rectified the situation swiftly…and with some harm to the fan. He threw him like I throw a stuffed animal…I mean if I had one.
Devin Harris of the New Jersey Nets doesn’t mind diving for a loose ball. And he especially doesn’t mind doing it when he can accidentally crash into some Laker Girls. Somewhere David Beckham is jealous.
Lebron James new sneakers, the LeBron VI will be released on Black Friday and to help people keep that in mind Nike is releasing this unbelievable commercial. The Swoosh has an ingenious advertising team as their contents remains so innovative, yet so simple.
BTW, can’t wait to see Lebron in a Celtics uniform in 2010!
Next on the agenda is Thanksgiving Day Football. ATS is covering all 4 games for the occasion for your wagering enjoyment.
We’ll start with the big leagues:
We’ll start with the best match-up of the day, Philadelphia hosting Arizona. This game’s outcome hinges on which Eagles team shows up to play. I’m not entirely convinced it will be the one that wins. But Philly is not a pleasant place to play. It’s my disdain for Philly that allows me to respect the the likelihood that a 5-5 Philly team can pull off a victory over a consistent 7-4 Cardinals team. I’m going with a combination teaser here 2 units Philly -3 /Over 47.5 teased 6 points. 2 Units Philly +3 over Ari/ Over 41.5 pays 2 Units.
Tennessee at Detroit.
I was all over the Jets upsetting the Titans last week. Out of tradition I love Detroit on Turkey day, but not this year. Tenn can go into Pontiac and win this game. And they will. The Lions don’t have Farve, and they don’t have a defense capable of stopping Tennessee. This almost seems too easy to pick. I have 1 unit on Tenn -11.5 over Detroit ATS, and 1 unit on the over 43.5
Seattle at Dallas
Are you kidding?? Dallas owns this one. Seattle couldn’t beat Tacoma State these days. Sure Dallas has struggled, but they won’t struggle against Seattle, and not on Thanksgiving day. But just for fun we’ll tease this one. Taking 10 Units Dallas over Seattle -13.5 and the over 46.5 teased 13.5 points. That’s 10 Units Dallas even over Seattle / Over 33 points pays 5 Units.
Next we have sheepskin pigskin.
Texas vying for the #1 spot will look to enhance their BCS standings by dominating Texas A & M. Texas can’t afford to win by less than 35 points (The current spread.) I am taking 5 Units on Texas -35.
You couldn’t have asked for a better game between the Texas Longhorns and Notre Dame. Back and forth the game went until the buzzer where Texas’ A.J. Abrams 3/4 court shot hit off the front of the rim. Hopefully this season brings us many more top 10 matchups that end like that. And especially more highlights like this dunk by Justin Mason over Mr. Harangody.
Thanksgiving is only a day away! And while we have many things to be thankful for, I don’t want to forget to give thanks for the under-appreciated cheerleaders of the NFL. They bring so much entertainment during lulls in the game. I know I am a fan and there is only one way I know how to show my gratitude. That would be in picture format. As the saying goes, a picture speaks louder than words.
AwfulAnnouncing posted the invitation video to the Adidas Originals House Party featuring various celebrities including David Beckham, Kevin Garnett, and Russell Simmons. Something in which I wasn’t invited to. And now comes the video of the actual party and it looked like a blazing time. Katy Perry seemed to be enjoying herself.
This video makes me actually want to go out and buy a pair of Adidas’ now. Damn viral marketing!
