yankee stadium dirtLeading up to the final game at Yankee stadium, Joe Girardi collected some dirt from behind homeplate to give to his kids, as a cheapo thoughtful gift. At the time, nobody thought much of it, but now this idea of keeping dirt as memorabilia has been commercialized and taken to a new level by Brandon Steiner of Steiner Sports. I only wish that I had the insight to sell gameday dirt to people for $60-200 a pop. Instead I work 70 hours a week staring at a computer screen.
