Spain slants their eyes in pre-Olympic ad

Not sure what the Spanish national basketball team meant by this, but it doesn’t look right to me.
I am sure Spain meant no offense, but what can be construed from the photo is debatable. Customs are different in every country and until someone can explain to me why Pau Gasol and he rest of the team is donning the slanted eyes look I just won’t understand.
