2008 Euro Group B Preview: Cliff Notes Style

They have home country advantage but nothing else.

The team which knocked England silly. If they get their act together and play consistently well, they can be the Denmark of 1992 or the Greece of 2004. They are tough in their style of play and take advantage of key slip ups from opposing teams. Will the team spring up with goals from Igor Budan or be saved by Dario Simic’s defending?

NEVER count the Germans out. They have a HUGE chance of winning. Miroslav Klose is an excellent attacker and scored more goals last World Cup than anyone else. And he’s humble, which is rare. They have Bastian Schweinsteiger, Torsten Frings and Michael Ballack in the middle. All experienced and effective, these Germans will want revenge losing at home 2 years ago. And the Euro 2008 takes place in 2 neighboring countries.
Home field advantage?

A solid team that did well in qualifying. They beat Portugal once and tied them the second time around. They qualified in first place. They can easily cause problems for any teams in this group. Artur Boruc will need to continue to play well for the “White and Red” to advance.

King Ing Predictions: Germany is far and away the class of this group. Should sweep all three games without a problem. Now I believe second place will come down to a heated battle between Poland and Croatia. It could even come down to goal differential. For some reason I have a feeling Croatia will get through to the quarterfinals. Klasnic will lead the way!
