An overtime playoff hockey game is just too exciting
June 3, 2008 – 9:12 am by King IngPenguins 4 Red Wings 3 - Petr Sykora told NBC’s Pierre McGuire he was going to score between plays earlier in the 2nd overtime. And score he did. Sykora took a Evgeni Malkin pass and beat Chris Osgood short side over the left shoulder to send the series back to Pittsburgh. Things didn’t look so good for the Czech as after he boldly predicted the goal, he took a bad hooking penalty. Fortunately for the Penguins they had Marc Andre Fleury. He stopped an amazing 55 shots including one body stretching save that for now kept the Stanley Cup out of the Red Wings hands.
Things started to turn Detroit’s way in the third. Down 2-1, Pavel Datsyuk and Brian Rafalski scored to give them the lead. Fans in the rink were chanting, “We want the cup,” but with under a minute left Max Talbot stuffed home a rebound to tie the score. Now the series shifts back to Pittsburgh tomorrow night. At least the good thing is the Red Wings can get one of those Primanti Bros. sandwiches i have heard so much about. If the Pens can win game 6, they will force a deciding seventh game on Saturday night.

This game had to be rigged. How could it really go double overtime?
This was also the first hockey game I have watched on TV in about 10 years. I was surprised to be into the game. I think it has to do with the fact that hockey is actually pretty good on HD tv, whereas it’s not as interesting/exciting on old-school picture tubes.
