The Champions League Final: Manchester United v Chelsea
May 21, 2008 – 9:52 am by GianlucaWhat makes this all English Final so important? It will finally give English Football some recognition. After a dismal exit from the qualifiers for the Euro, England has a chance to stay in the news with what promises to be an exciting game. An ever ready media who willingly wipe EPL’s ass free of charge is salivating this moment. You see, as exciting English soccer may be to watch, throughout history it has never soared anywhere because what happens in EPL does not work in real life. That is why you will always hear fans of English Premier League make fun of Serie A as boring and similarly are jealous of La liga. Now, we as fans have no options. It’s England all the way. And I must say, I am glad.
Who do I think deserves to win? Man U.
Who do I want to win? Chelsea.
Though both teams are mega rich, Chelsea is over the top.
BUT for some reason I always have had a home feeling for them.
To pull that off means they have a well connected team who (let’s be honest) has been impressing alot lately. After Mourinho’s early exit and the assaults on Grant, it would be nice to see Chelsea finally win a major title for once in their history. Plus it would feel better to see a media all too ready to crown this Man U team as a manna from heaven with their mouths frozen.
It will be tough. No Doubt. Fun? No Doubt. Good for English fans? No Doubt.
But as are the rules of life, one side will go home crying.
Let’s just hope it’s the one that deserves it.

Should be a great game. I can’t wait to see the lineups. Hopefully my boy Park Ji-Sung gets some run.

I’m not sure John Terry will be sober by the start of Euro 2008. I like him, but he’s going to take this hard I think.

He doesn’t have to be. England didn’t qualify!
