Briere tells the Canadiens to suck it

May 1, 2008 – 10:01 am by King Ing

Flyers 4 Canadiens 2 - After rejecting Montreal’s contract offer for the bright lights of Philly; Daniel Briere continues to get the last laugh as he scored the game winning goal with 3:38 left. Momentum was all on the Canadiens side as they came back from a 2-0 deficit with 2 goals in 37 seconds. But a interference penalty on Steve Begin led to the power play that eventually put the Flyers up 3-1 in the series. On the PP, Briere pounced on a rebound and slid it past rookie goaltender Jaroslav Halak for his eigth goal of the postseason. Martin Biron stopped 36 shots for the winners.

Sharks 2 Stars 1 - San Jose staved off elimination, but I refuse to talk about the Western Conference until LC updates her blog.
